Chelé Cary, Managing Director at CX, a Connor Group company, has been named to the inaugural 2026 class of Women to KNOW in Utah.
The honorees are chosen by a panel of past honorees, business leaders and community advocates. Each nominee sits for an interview about her career, her work in the community and where she's headed. The committee scores against 4 criteria: proven professional results, leadership in her industry, measurable community or philanthropic impact, and a commitment to supporting women.
Chelé meets all 4.
"Leadership gets measured in results, and it should. But the part that outlasts any of us is who’s still in the room ten years from now. I want young women entering this industry to have what I didn’t early in my career, a woman a few steps ahead of them, visible, doing the job well. That’s the version of success I’m actually chasing." - Chelé Cary

Chelé started her career at Ernst & Young and went on to spend more than 7 years as a corporate controller. At Connor Group, she's taken some of the hardest assignments in finance. She supported the controller function for an entity in a high-risk bankruptcy. She also served as interim controller for fast-growing SaaS and healthcare companies and ran several acquisitions at each one. That work covered technical accounting, integrations, valuations and working capital.
She has worked in healthcare, agriculture, SaaS, consumer products, and oil and gas. Across all of them, her focus has been the people, processes and systems inside the accounting team. She has led financial close overhauls for many organizations and built the investor reporting that leadership teams use to make decisions.
Chelé works in Salt Lake City and leads Growth & Talent Strategy for CX. She owns market expansion, marketing, strategic partnerships and talent acquisition. In practice, that means picking CX's next markets, building the marketing funnel for the business development team and setting recruiting strategy in every market CX serves.
Her recruiting role ties straight to what CX does. CX places senior interim finance and accounting professionals with companies that need experienced help fast. Chelé has done those jobs herself, so she knows what a controller walking into a messy close needs to bring on day 1.
Outside of work, Chelé spends a lot of her time helping women advance in their careers. She's active in the Salt Lake City business community and sits on the board of ACG's Women’s Professional Network Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Utah. Between the two boards, her work reaches women building careers now and girls who haven't started one yet.
Congratulations, Chelé, on this well-deserved recognition!
